What To Expect
Dear GCC Guest,
If this is your first consideration of Grace Covenant Church, we’d like to welcome you. If you are searching for a local church to call home, please know that we’ve prayed for you to have wisdom as you seek the Lord’s leading in your life. GCC is not for everybody, but we are thankful the Lord has led you to us and want to answer a few questions that visitors tend to have when looking for a church home.
What do your services look like?
Our try to keep our services simple. Generally, prayer, songs/hymns, and the expositional preaching of God’s word mark our time together. We proclaim the Gospel, because it is the message of salvation for those who don’t know God and the message of strength for those who do know Him. We strive to be Christ-centered in all we do including public worship.
What style of music should I expect?
The music chosen for our worship services must be God-glorifying, Christ-center, and clearly reflect Scripture. Often the words themselves are right from Scripture. We use instruments while encouraging the congregation to lift their voices to God with freedom and joy. Over time, God has faithfully persevered a body of songs and hymns that reflect the historical theology of the church. If this music is biblical and has stood the test of time, it should therefore not be rejected simply because it is ‘old’.
What should I wear when I come?
We have no dress code at GCC. Some dress up for church, while others wear jeans and a t-shirt. Wear what is comfortable for you.
What should I do with my children?
We encourage (though do not require) parents to keep their children in the service with them, and many families choose to do this. We offer child care during the Sunday School hour as well as the service for children up to 3 years old. We also offer a ‘worship training’ room where parents can sit with their children and experience the service via a large screen TV. We don’t have a separate service (junior church) for children. Visit our Children's Ministries page for more information.
